FRENCH SPARKLING WINE

CHAMPAGNE VEUVE FOURNY, PREMIER CRU BLANC DE BLANCS

Outstanding quality from a small but dedicated producer whose vineyards in the Côte de Blancs are 100% Premier Cru. The average age of the vines - 100% Chardonnay - is 30 years, and yields are severely restricted to achieve maximum quality of fruit. Only the first pressing (cuvée) is used; the "tailles" are discarded. Aged for a minimum of 3 years before disgorgement, with a further six months in bottle. Full, rich and creamy, with great elegance and style. A match for any of the well known Champagnes selling at twice the price (and more!)

ITALIAN SPARKLING WINE

PROSECCO BRUT - Zonin

Prosecco is its own grape, and it tastes completely different than chardonnay and pinot noir (the grapes of Champagne). This white grape grows in northern Italy and makes a simpler sparkler that charms with its easy-going nature, rather than being complex to the point of fussy. Dry with attractive back notes of bitter almonds and a rich fragrant bouquet. Perfectly balanced with fruity sensations and an intense fresh finish, a great aperitif.

PROSECCO SPECIAL CUVÉE - Zonin

Made to please the English market this slightly sweeter version of the Brut above. Delicate, with lemon and light floral and mineral character. Medium fizz, with a clean, fresh finish. Drink now. 33,500 cases made.
